Lifeline Assistance

We believe wireless/wireline service should be available to everyone, no matter their income. That's why we support the Lifeline program in Mississippi and Alabama. It helps those with low incomes and income-based benefits obtain a phone and communicate with friends and family.

Lifeline is a government benefit program that provides a monthly credit of $9.25 for wireless/wireline service. For wireless services in Mississippi and Alabama, postpaid calling plans with at least 1,000 talk minutes are required to qualify for Lifeline Assistance. For Lifeline customers, home wireline services are only available in Mississippi.

Only one Lifeline discount is allowed per household. Additional lines do not qualify for the discounted Lifeline rates. Only eligible consumers may participate in the program, and C Spire must receive satisfactory evidence of eligibility. Lifeline service cannot be transferred from one person to another.

Qualifying Programs (Any one of the following):
  • Income Based - The customer's income of 135% or less than the Federal Poverty Guidelines
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
Tribal Lifeline+

Additional qualifying programs for customers who live on Tribal Lands:

  • Bureau of Indian affairs General Assistance
  • Head Start (only households meeting the income qualifying standard)
  • Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

Enhanced Tribal Support of $35.00 will be available to customers who live on rural Tribal Lands, defined as areas with populations less that 25,000.

Alabama Residents+

Please download the form below and complete all sections. When submitting your completed form, you will also need to submit a copy of your Alabama Driver License and proof of your enrollment in your qualifying program. You may take this information to your local C Spire store.

Again, you will need to submit three items:

  • Your completed form
  • A copy of your Alabama Driver License
  • A copy of proof of enrollment in a qualifying program/benefit

How it works
1 You will complete an application with the National Verifier and a request for to C Spire. If you qualify with National Verifier the information you submit to C Spire must match your submitted and approved application. The phone number you enter needs to be your C Spire/Telepak phone number.
2 Follow the link to the national Verifier form and submit your application. Make note of you Application ID, as this will be needed in your request to C Spire.
3 Once you have qualified with National Verifier, complete the form below to submit your request to C Spire for your discount. Again, this must match the information you subitted in your application to the National Verifier and must be your C Spire/Telepak phone number.

Thank you for submitting your information. We will contact you if there are any issues with information submitted. Once your benefit is added, it may take two billing cycles before it appears on your bill.
