C3 is our regional coding competition for area high schools to inspire more Mississippi students to pursue computer science. This will be an all-day event with hands-on coding sessions and lots of fun. It's just one way the C Spire Tech Movement is building Mississippi's future through technology and education. Check out last year's C3 in this quick video.
THE CHALLENGE
Wouldn't you like to know! Each year, the challenge is kept secret until the day of competition.
Teams work with a C Spire mentor to flex their critical thinking and problem solving muscles to build a solution to the year's unique coding challenge.
THE RULES
- One team per high school.
- Up to four students per team, selected by school administration.
- All high schools and Home School Associations in Mississippi are eligible to participate in one C3 per school year.
- Must have one to two faculty chaperones.
THE PRIZE
We'll have awesome door prizes and the top five teams WIN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS.
What should I bring?
An appetite for learning and creating! No need to bring your computer or food. All of the computer equipment and supplies you need for C3 will be provided by C Spire along with breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.
Do students need coding experience to participate?
Absolutely not! We welcome students of all skill levels. C3 is a great opportunity for beginners to learn and the challenge is designed for students of all levels to be competitive and win!
What time do I need to arrive?
Registration begins at 9:00am and will end at 9:30. You don't want to miss a thing, so be on time!
Attire?
Dress comfortably in classroom appropriate attire. We would like to see everyone in their C3 shirts on competition day. Bring a jacket. It can get chilly in this building.
How do I get my school registered?
Contact your school administration about participating. The faculty chaperone for your school can come here and register your school. Please note registration for C3 2020 is full but you can still be added to wait list.
How do I register a student?
A faculty member must register your school first. Once your school is registered, they can begin registering students. Click on the Register tab to begin. Please note that registration for C3 2020 is full but you can still be added to the wait list.
