Use your C Spire SIM card with another C Spire device

This article is for current C Spire customers who are upgrading their devices. If you’re upgrading and you do not receive a SIM card with your new device, it means that you can use the SIM card from your existing C Spire device To activate your new device, simply remove the SIM card from your old device and insert it into the new device. Learn more below.

Ensure that both your old device and your new device are both powered off.

Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your existing device.

Use the tray-eject tool included in the box with your new device to remove the SIM card from your old device. (Push the tool into the tray's hole until the tray pops out.)
Pull the tray out and notice the notch in one corner of the SIM card. The card will only fit into a SIM tray one way because of the notched corner.

Using the same tray-eject tool, open the SIM card tray on your new device and place the SIM card in the tray.

Power on your new device and ensure it is not connected to WiFi.

Don't make any calls or send any texts on your new device for about 5 minutes or until you see "UICC Activation Successful" on the screen.
