How to set up a mobile hotspot on your iOS device

With the Wi-Fi hotspot feature, you can share Internet from your device's mobile data connection with any other device by following the steps below. Note: This feature requires a cellular data connection.

From the home screen, tap Settings.

Tap Cellular.

Ensure that Cellular Data is enabled, then tap Personal Hotspot.

Tap Wi-Fi Password to configure a password for your Personal Hotspot.

Create a password with at least 8 characters, then tap Done.

Now you can toggle on Personal Hotspot.

You may be prompted to turn on Bluetooth. If you want devices to connect to your hotspot using bluetooth, tap Turn on Bluetooth, otherwise tap Wi-Fi and USB Only.

Devices can connected to your hotspot in three ways: Wi-Fi Connect by finding your device under available wi-fi networks, joining it, then entering the hotspot password you created. Bluetooth Connect by finding your device under available bluetooth devices, pairing with it, then entering the hotspot password you created. USB Connect your device to a computer using a USB cable. Find your device under available wi-fi networks, join it, then enter the hotspot password you created.

Note: The devices connected using the hotspot feature will use your device's mobile data for internet access — monitor your data usage to avoid using it up. In addition, the hotspot feature may also drain your device's battery faster.
