Most wireless carriers also require VoLTE for national coverage, which means you can expect little to no service out of state unless you update your phone immediately.
Turn on VoLTE Access
To enjoy the superior capabilities of the new VoLTE network, follow these steps to turn on access on your phone.
For iPhone
Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data > LTE > Enable LTE
For Android
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > Enable LTE
