unlocking your phone from Verizon.

To unlock your phone from Verizon, you’ll just need to wait until your 60-day lock period has ended. Verizon locks devices for 60 days after purchase or, if you purchase it at a Verizon retail partner, 60 days after activation. After that, Verizon will unlock your phone automatically. Just make sure it’s fully paid off, and you’ll be ready to join C Spire Switch.

If you bought a 4G Phone-in-a-Box from a Verizon retail partner, lock periods vary by device. You can find the lock period for your device on the back of the box.

See the latest version of Verizon’s device unlock policies.

To unlock your phone from AT&T, you’ll need to submit an unlock request at att.com/deviceunlock and make sure your device meets these requirements:

  • Your device is fully paid off and not active on another AT&T account.
    • If you paid it off on your monthly bill, you can request an unlock at the start of the following billing period.
    • If you paid it off early, you can request an unlock at least 48 hours after you made your final payment.
  • Your device doesn’t have a past-due account balance.
  • Your device is not involved in fraud or reported lost or stolen.

For prepaid devices, AT&T requires them to have been active for at least six months. Some of these devices feature an Unlock app you can use to unlock your phone.
