Which students can apply for C Spire Liftoff?
To qualify for the C Spire Liftoff program, the student needs to be an incoming high school junior or senior with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, attending a public or private high school in the Jackson metro area.
What does a student need to apply for C Spire Liftoff?
As part of the C Spire Liftoff application process, the student will need to submit a completed application form; a letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or administrator; and an 500- to 750-word essay on their career goals, what they can contribute to the program, and what impact this program could have on their future.
What opportunities can C Spire Liftoff prepare students for?
The C Spire Liftoff program offers three unique tracks for students: technical, business and creative. While there’s a limit to the number of students in each, all three provide vital work experience and insight for students, whatever college and career path they choose.
What are the goals and objectives of C Spire Liftoff?
C Spire Liftoff is designed to provide Mississippi high school juniors and seniors with valuable, hands-on experience in STEM, arts, business and other professional fields. Students will be developing essential skills for their college and career paths, while also networking with industry professionals who can offer useful insight and guidance. All in just a few hours.
When is C Spire Liftoff taking applications for fall 2025?
The C Spire Liftoff will be accepting applications April 1-Aug. 31, 2025. We’ll complete the review process by Sept. 15 and start notifying selected students after that date. This short program will be hosted at C Spire headquarters in Ridgeland for part of fall 2025.
Will every student be accepted for C Spire Liftoff?
Currently, a maximum of 10 students are selected for C Spire Liftoff each year. While we wish every applicant could join us, limiting the size is the only way to provide direct, hands-on experience and career insight for each student in the program.
What if a student isn’t interested in a technology career?
While C Spire is a tech company, students will learn skills in the C Spire Liftoff program that apply to every career and field of study. On top of that, some level of tech knowledge is required at most modern businesses and higher-education institutions. Getting to work around the latest technology for home, wireless and business just puts Liftoff students an extra step ahead.
