C Spire Prepared to Keep Communities and Customers Connected During 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season

2026-06-01

Ridgeland, Miss., June 1, 2026 — As the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season begins, C Spire is preparing to help Mississippi communities stay connected when it matters most. Drawing on decades of disaster response experience, a customer-inspired team and artificial intelligence to keep customers online and support first responders during severe weather.

From Hurricane Katrina to recent storms across the region, C Spire has played a key role in restoring connectivity and supporting communities in disaster recovery. That experience still shapes how the company prepares, trains, and responds today.

“Connectivity is essential during emergencies for families, first responders, and the communities we serve,” said Alan Jones, chief network officer for C Spire. “Our teams prepare year-round. We are ready to respond at a moment's notice with the tools, technology, and expertise needed to keep our customers connected and assist recovery efforts.”

Advanced technology supports faster response

C Spire uses AI and other tools to help analyze network data in weather events. In recent severe weather, including Winter Storm Fern, these capabilities helped teams quickly identify impacted areas, prioritize repairs and restore service to customers during outages.

Preparedness grounded in training and experience

C Spire's readiness is built on preparation and repetition. The company routinely conducts emergency response drills throughout the year, prepares teams and equipment in advance of expected storm impacts, stages network resources and personnel for rapid deployment, and coordinates with agencies and first responder teams to ensure critical communications support during disasters.

Resilient infrastructure and continuous monitoring

C Spire continues to strengthen its infrastructure to improve reliability and redundancy, including backup batteries and generators at most network sites, reinforced network facilities and data centers, and continuous monitoring through its network experience center.

“Preparation is everything,” said Jones. “We focus on having the right people, the right equipment and the right plans in place ahead of time so we can respond quickly and help our communities recover.”

For C Spire, hurricane preparedness is more than a seasonal effort. It is a year-round pledge to serving the communities where team members and customers live and work.
