C Spire Prepared to Keep Communities and Customers Connected During Hurricane Season

RIDGELAND, Miss. (June 3, 2025) – C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, is committed to keeping its communities and customers connected during the upcoming 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. With decades of experience, a highly trained team, and a bolstered wireless and fiber network, C Spire is ready to respond to emergencies and widespread natural disasters when they occur.

The hurricane season began June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. The outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts an above-normal season with 13-19 named storms. Of those, 6-10 are forecast to become hurricanes, including 3 to 5 major hurricanes.

To prepare for hurricane season, C Spire implements extensive measures to strengthen its networks. These initiatives involve reinforcing infrastructure, augmenting network redundancy, and upgrading equipment to improve system reliability. C Spire employs backup batteries and has installed backup generators at over 90 percent of its access points, wireless sites, and data centers to ensure redundancy.

Additionally, C Spire routinely reviews and updates its emergency preparedness and crisis communications plans and conducts readiness drills throughout the year to evaluate the resilience of its network and the preparedness of its workforce.
