Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart Caps Record-Breaking Season with Mississippi’s Top College Football Honor
JACKSON, Miss – The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum announced Jaxson Dart, senior quarterback for the University of Mississippi, as the recipient of the 2024 C Spire Conerly Trophy. Dart, who hails from Kaysville, Utah, claimed the honor during the 29th Annual C Spire Conerly Trophy ceremony held tonight at the Sheraton Flowood The Refuge Hotel.
Named for Ole Miss and NFL legend Charlie Conerly, the C Spire Conerly Trophy recognizes the best college football player in Mississippi, as determined by a panel of sports media experts and NFL scouts. Dart’s stellar 2024 season made him a standout choice among a field of highly talented nominees.
Dart’s record-breaking season solidified his place in Ole Miss history. In last Friday’s Egg Bowl victory over Mississippi State, Dart threw for 143 yards to surpass Eli Manning’s career passing record of 10,119 yards, bringing his total to 10,213 as the 2024 regular season concluded. Earlier in the year, Dart delivered a historic performance against Arkansas, breaking school records for total offense in a single game and becoming the winningest quarterback in program history.
A finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Dart’s 2024 season totals include:
249 completions on 363 attempts
3,875 passing yards with 25 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions
112 rushing attempts for 452 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns
