RIDGELAND, Miss. (August 15, 2024) – C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, launched two new small cell sites at Corinth High School and the C Spire store in New Albany to improve wireless service for its customers.
The network enhancements at Corinth High School will directly benefit the students, administrators, and parents by providing better coverage and speed. Additionally, the enhancement will add more customer capacity in the shopping center where the C Spire store is in New Albany, ensuring a more seamless network experience.
Small cell sites work with macro cell towers to boost network performance and reliability. C Spire plans to deploy more small cell sites in other regions of Mississippi in the coming months.
"With an ever-increasing demand for streaming movies, music, and videos, we are always considering how to future-proof our existing network infrastructure in high-traffic areas," shared Alan Jones, chief network officer for C Spire. "This ensures C Spire keeps our customers and the communities we serve connected when it matters the most."
The upgrades are part of C Spire's $35 million investment over the last 15 months in critical parts of its service area. C Spire's network team monitors customer usage and trends to strategically plan where to boost speed, capacity, and coverage.
