C Spire Wireless Launches 'PERCS Means Prizes' Contest; Consumers Show How They Love Their PERCS

C Spire’s ‘PERCS means PRIZES’ Contest Allows Consumers to Create Unique Content via Photographs and Video, Showing How they Use and Enjoy PERCS For a Chance To Win 1,000 PERC Points or Up To $5,000

Ridgeland, Miss. (July 11, 2012) – C Spire Wireless is offering consumers the chance to show their creativity and love of “PERCS” with today’s launch of PERCS means PRIZES, the company’s first user generated, multi-media contest surrounding it’s highly touted PERCS rewards and consumer engagement program.

The contest, which is open to C Spire customers and the general public, kicks off July 16 and will give participants the chance to showcase their talent and show how they use and benefit from their PERCS rewards by submitting photos and videos online. Participants will get their creation displayed in C Spire’s online galleries and earn the chance to win up to 1,000 PERC points – giving them access to valuable rewards personalized just for them. Each category winner will get $1,000, and the PERCS star talent will win the $5,000 grand prize.

C Spire’s PERCS means PRIZES contestants will get a chance to display their creativity, in addition to getting the opportunity to earn PERC points and win cash prizes. Participants will get up to 1,000 PERC points when they submit a PERCS commercial idea or jingle, capture their PERCS celebration dance or create a PERCS music video using soundtracks from the company’s Bright Lights Music program. They can also snap a photo during a PERCS Catch game, or create a photo image of their best PERCS excited expression. Users will be able to submit photo and video entries in the following categories:

  • Best PERCS Catch picture or created image
  • Best PERCS Expression picture or created image
  • Best PERCS jingle or commercial video
  • Best PERCS dance or music video

“It’s all about interacting with and engaging consumers to give them more of what they want. The PERCS means PRIZES contest taps into everybody’s love of unique, user generated content, as well as their desire to share that content with others,” said Suzy Hays, senior vice president of Brand Management and Personalization for C Spire Wireless. “With more than 213,000 PERC rewards members earning more than 62 million rewards points, we know that C Spire customers and consumers in general are enjoying the benefits of this industry-leading, personalized rewards program. The PERCS means PRIZES contest now gives them a chance to express themselves and showcase how they interact with PERCS for a chance to earn even more great rewards – that’s Personalized Wireless at C Spire.

Entry into C Spire’s PERCS means PRIZES contest is easy and fun. Members of the general public or C Spire customers who are not currently enrolled in the company’s PERCS rewards program can enter the contest by creating a profile on and accepting the contest terms and conditions. Users will be able to promote their submissions through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Top entries will be showcased on C Spire’s YouTube and Pinterest pages for others to view and share. The PERCS means PRIZES contest will run through August 10, ending with the announcement of the winners on August 20.

C Spire Wireless has already experienced early success with the nation’s first personalized consumer engagement program, with nearly half of smartphone users and thousands of non-customers earning more than 62 million reward points.

“All loyalty programs offer some form of reward, but many don’t fully connect with members. C Spire’s PERCS program sets a new industry standard,” said Sheryl Kingstone, Yankee Group research director and an expert on customer-centric strategies. Yankee Group research shows that 77 percent of consumers prefer loyalty programs that offer service upgrades in addition to traditional points-for-merchandise plans. “C Spire’s program is transparent, engaging and makes a better customer experience and service part of the value proposition,” Kingstone said.

C Spire customers get two types of rewards, Status PERCS and PERCS points, for things like sharing their views on the company’s community social forum, being a loyal customer and engaging in activities on their way to personalizing their wireless experience.

Personalized wireless at C Spire is a package of different wireless services and programs that combine to reflect and serve each customer’s unique needs. Customers will see this unique personalization in apps and content that fit them, services that anticipate their needs, and rewards they’ll get just for using their phone in new ways. In addition to PERCS, specific examples of C Spire’s industry-first personalized wireless services include:
