How to understand your C Spire Business bill

The first page of your bill summarizes the more important information, such as:

1. The Account Name and Billing Address
2. The Account Information Section
   • Account Number
   • Billing Date - This is the first day of the new billing cycle and the billing period for which the customer is being billed for services.
   • Payment Due Date - Bill must be paid before this date to avoid disruption in service.
   • Invoice Number.
3. The Previous Charges Section
   • Previous Balance - Balance from previous month's invoice.
   • Payments Received - The total payments received during the previous billing cycle.
   • Adjustments - C Spire applied credits or charges due to billing corrections or misapplied payments since the last billing cycle.
   • Balance Forward - The difference remaining from the previous balance after all applicable payments and adjustments. Note: Any overpayments may be shown as credit balance.
4. The Current Charges Section
   • Summary of Charges - Total recurring monthly charges billed excluding one-time charges, usage charges, taxes and fees.
   • Account Charges / Credits - One-Time charges and credits. This could include late fees or account adjustments.
   • Usage Charges - Charges associated with voice lines such as Toll-Free numbers, per minute usage charges, long distance charges, etc. This could also include Microsoft Office Premium Users and/or other Managed and Cloud Service products.
   • Total Taxes & Fees - Taxes billed by State and County regulations. This section will also include FCC Regulated Fees and Administrative Fees. For a full list of Taxes and Fee descriptions, please see the bottom half of page two of your billing statement.
   • Total Current Charges - Total amount due for this month's billing cycle.
5. Total Amount Due - Current charges plus any remaining prior bill changes.
6. Payment Stub - If paying by mail, detach this bottom portion and mail along with your payment. You can include a change of address on the back of this payment portion.
7. Amount Enclosed - If you've set up automatic payments for your wireless bill, this section will be replaced with the following message. "No Payment necessary! A payment will be drafted on due date!"

The second page of your bill explains how to reach C Spire Business; Terms and Conditions; Payment Options; Check Payment Conditions; various billing terms, their codes and meanings; and service-related information. The section at the bottom of the page is for submitting a change of address to C Spire via mail.

The third page of your bill provides the remaining previous balance, payment summary, adjustments, balance forward, a summary of services by location, summary of usage by phone and a list of account charges and credits.

1. The header lists the account name, account number, invoice closing date and billing due date.
2. The Balance Information Section
   • Previous Balance - Balance from the previous billing period
   • Account payments or adjustments
   • Balance Forward - Remaining balance from previous billing period remaining after payments and adjustments have been applied.
3. The Service Summary Section - A summary of charges at each service location - These charges are further separated into recurring charges, one-time charges, usage charges, and taxes. The line items that make up these charges will be described in more detail on the following billing details page.
4. The Summary of Usage by Phone Section - Shows call count, minutes of usage and charges for each individual phone line.
5. The Account Charges/Credits Section - A summary of special charges that don't apply directly to invoiced services. Typically, these include one-time charges for installation or hardware purchases, account credits, or late fees.

Each additional section of your bill will be divided per service location. Each of these sections will start with another summary of charges and voice usage that apply to that specific location.

1. The header lists the account name, account number, invoice closing date, billing due date, and the specific location that this page's billing applies to.
2. The Service Summary and Summary of Usage by Phone reappear again but are now specific to the service location in section “A” above.
3. The Billing Details Sections - These are the individual components that make up each service and subscription on your contract. These listings are columnized and can continue onto multiple pages.
   • The recurring monthly charges, in addition to one-time charges, promotional credits, and partial-month charges for changes made during the billing period. These charges make up the bulk of the amount due for the line. See below for further details.
   • Taxes and surcharges are found below this section.
   • Your total monthly charges for this service subscription.
4. An example of Prorated Services - New services that were activated during the previous month or moved from another billing account during the previous month may appear with Partial Month charges and include a billing date period that doesn't fall during the period of the other billing items.
