C Spire Fiber 2 Gig provides even faster internet speeds than our 1 Gig product. To make the most of 2 Gig speeds, you’ll need an ethernet connection to equipment capable of going that fast. You will need to wire your device(s) into the C Spire Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to achieve these speeds.

To achieve 2 Gig speeds while maintaining a Wi-Fi network, customers will need to bring their own equipment, as the current C Spire Wi-Fi devices only include 1 multi-gig WAN port, which will be used to wire directly into the C Spire ONT. You will need to ensure you are using:

• A device with a 2.5 Gbps ethernet port OR a device with a USB 3/ USB C port, along with a 2.5 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 Ethernet Adapter
• A Cat6 or greater ethernet cable
• A Wi-Fi Device with two or more 2.5 Gbps WAN ports OR wire 1 device straight into the ONT

C Spire Fiber 8 Gig comes with all the features of C Spire Fiber 2 Gig, only faster. To make the most of 8 Gig speeds, you’ll need an ethernet connection to equipment capable of going that fast. The same conditions are required for 8 Gig as are for 2 Gig. You will need to ensure you are using:

• A device with a 10 Gbps ethernet port OR a device with a USB 3/ USB C port along with a 10 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 Adapter
• A Cat6 or greater ethernet cable
• A Wi-Fi Device with two or more 10 Gbps WAN ports

• Includes C Spire Smart WiFi

This depends on the Wi-Fi technology in your device and your Wi-Fi device. We recommend that both devices use Wi-Fi 6 or greater. It also depends on your device’s Wi-Fi channel width. Most phones and laptops use an 80 MHz channel width, which can reach maximum speeds of up to 800Mbps. Some phones, such as the Google Pixel, have a 160MHz Channel Width and can reach speeds up to 1,700 Mbps. Wi-Fi speeds will vary based on factors such as distance from router, how many devices are connected to the Wi-Fi device, and obstructions between you and your Wi-Fi device.
