Tethering is sharing the Internet connection of an Internet-capable mobile phone with other devices. This sharing can be done over a wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), over Bluetooth, or by physical connection using a cable. The Internet-connected mobile phone acts as a portable modem when providing tethering services to other devices.

Customize your plan to fit your needs in a new way - with a Tethering Pass.

If you subscribe to a data service, you can use your phone's data connection for your other wireless devices (like a laptop or tablet).

Get 1GB of tethering for 30 days for just $20.

Log in to opt in or out of tethering for each line on your account.

To make changes, click LINE DETAILS and choose ADD/CHANGE FEATURES.

If you know you won't tether your phone to other devices, simply choose the Opt Out of Tethering feature.

Many data-capable phones can tether through a variety of methods: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cable. When attempting to tether on your phone, you'll be prompted to purchase a tethering pass. You do not need to purchase a tethering pass when using your home or public Wi-Fi network.

A Tethering Pass expires after 1GB of data has been tethered or 30 days after purchase, whichever comes first. Top up an active tethering pass with another 1GB pass at any time and extend the expiration date on unused data for another 30 days.

Tethering passes are not available for customers with a Per KB or Per MB data feature, on the Business Shared - Phones plan, or on non-data plans. Tethering is not available on all devices.
