C Spire “Day of Country” Adds Vocal Duo Thompson Square to May 20 Concert Featuring Country Music Superstar Kenny Chesney and Other Leading Artists

Thompson Square will join Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Russell Dickerson and Chesney in special Armed Forces Day performance at Madison, Mississippi live concert

Ridgeland, Miss. - (April 24, 2017) - Thompson Square, one of the leading vocal duos in country music, has been added to the lineup for a live outdoor C Spire “Day of Country” concert on May 20 at the Baptist Health Systems campus in Madison, Mississippi.

The duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, with chart-topping hits in the U.S., Canada and Australia over the last several years, will perform alongside country superstar Kenny Chesney and contemporary country music artists Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen and Russell Dickerson.

Nashville-based Thompson Square replaces rising country music singer and actress Jana Kramer who announced last week that she was bowing out of upcoming appearances, including her scheduled May 20 appearance, for “personal reasons.”

The C Spire “Day of Country” Live concert will be held in a large, 30-acre open field at the health care provider’s campus just off Highland Colony Parkway near Highway 463 in Madison.

A limited number of tickets for the 2 p.m. concert are on sale online at cspire.com/concert and through Ticketmaster. Prices are $80 each for general admission and $150 each for access to an exclusive area in front of the stage. Gates will open at noon.

C Spire and the performers will honor members of the military, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and the U.S. Coast Guard, for their service to the country in recognition of Armed Forces Day during the concert.

This is the fourth major music concert hosted by C Spire in Madison County. In 2013, Darius Rucker, the former front man for Hootie and the Blowfish, rocked the stage with tracks from his True Believers album. In 2015, Miranda Lambert, the reigning queen of country music and its top female performer, was the featured headliner artist. Last year, Florida Georgia Line, the mega-popular country music duo, performed before a sellout crowd of over 10,000 country music fans.
