C Spire Announces New Leadership in Alabama

RIDGELAND, Miss., (Oct. 25, 2022) – C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, has announced leadership changes in its Alabama region. Most of these changes incorporate multiple senior leaders from recently acquired Troy Cable based in Troy, Alabama.

Ben Moncrief, executive vice president for Alabama said, “These leaders excel in their respective areas and contribute a wealth of knowledge and experience that will further the mission and growth of our company.”

Jake Cowen will serve as senior vice president and general manager for Home Fiber at C Spire. As a certified public accountant, he has more than 20 years of experience overseeing daily operations, implementing growth strategies to increase revenue and creating company budgets. Previously, Cowen served as chief financial officer for Troy Cable where he ensured compliance with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grant from the Department of Commerce. This $32 million grant closed in 2014.

Chad Copeland will serve as vice president of home services in the Alabama region. In this role, he is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the daily operations of construction, mapping, permitting, damage prevention and property used for the multi-county fiber network. Additionally, he has extensive experience recruiting and managing numerous construction crews, subcontractors, and administrative personnel. Copeland previously served as construction manager/outside plant engineer for Troy Cable.

Conley Freeman will serve as senior vice president of network architecture and research at C Spire. In this role he is responsible for leading engineering teams, customer care and establishing technical vision and direction for the company. His engineering team ensures products and services delivered exceed SLAs and have a high uptime achieving 99.99% of core infrastructure and voice products. In the last two years, Freeman’s Troy Cable team has implemented a demand aggregation tool for focusing on building areas with high demand exceeding 70% penetration on new areas.

Pamela Parker will serve as the senior manager of technical purchasing at C Spire. She is responsible for ensuring purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs for price, quality, and delivery across the company. Parker also provides detailed metrics and analysis necessary to support business operations, ensures procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications and prepares cost estimates and manages budgets.

Philip McKibben has been named regional vice president, Alabama for C Spire Business. With more than 23 years of experience in sales, he is responsible for growing market share with direct sales team members and increasing customer retention in the Alabama and Florida areas. Prior to this role, McKibben was a director of sales, national channel manager, area sales manager and senior sales executive at C Spire.
