Record response prompts telecom firm’s wireless unit to extend popular unlimited plan
Ridgeland, Miss., (January 6, 2017) – C Spire has decided to extend a popular, new unlimited voice and data plan that’s a key component of its latest customer experience and relationship initiative designed to make the firm the easiest company to do business with in the industry.
C Spire rolled out the unlimited voice and data plan on Dec. 1 for $65 a month on any smartphone with a new line on Device Payment Plan (DPP) or purchased separately without a contract. Although intended to be a limited time promotion, the plan’s popularity prompted company officials to continue offering the option after a record customer response in December.
Over 70 percent of existing postpaid customers who changed plans and 46 percent of all activations during the month opted for the new unlimited plan offered through the diversified telecommunications and technology services firm’s wireless unit. Overall, there were twice as many total plan changes compared to the same time last year.
“We’re thrilled to be able to continue to offer unlimited as an option due, in large part, to the overwhelming response during the holidays,” said Suzy Hays, senior vice president of Consumer Markets, noting that the decision is the latest example of how the company is committed to a customer-first approach. “It’s a way to show our loyalty to customers for their loyalty to C Spire by doing business with us.”
Hays said the unlimited plan means that cell phone data is one less thing that has to be managed and, coupled with a consistent bill, offers customers worry-free benefits. “Many consumers lead busy lives and unlimited is a great way to make life just a bit more simple for them.”
The new plan is network-friendly and includes provisions that allow C Spire to slow data speeds after 25 gigabytes (GB) of data usage to protect its network and other users’ experience. The company continues to deploy its Max Range LTE technology, which expands coverage by 80 percent in every direction, including hard to reach places inside buildings, offices and homes, and encourages use of its WiFi On app, which automatically connects to WiFi where available.
